About - 2011 Dallas ISD School Ratings
I have been meaning to share with you for some time this clarification on the 2011 Dallas ISD school ratings. Most Dallas schools rate Exemplary or Recognized, about the same number are rated Acceptable and some are rated Unacceptable.* However, several Dallas neighborhood schools experienced changes from their last year's rating due to changes in the Texas Education Agency (TEA) accountability system. Stonewall Jackson Elementary Rating
To highlight in particular Stonewall Jackson Elementary, though the school’s performance remains high, its rating has changed from Exemplary to Acceptable due to effects from the TEA changes.** (Click for: Letter from Principal Olivia Henderson to the Stonewall parents about how the rating changes and the school’s unique factors effected that change. )
* Ratings are a combination of several indices, but the TAKS test passing rates required for each rating are: Exemplary: 90% passing in each subject; Recognized: 80% passing rate in each subject; Acceptable: 70% passing in reading, writing and social studies, 65% in math, 60% in science.
